===/trotline

| Situation
Phishing scams lead to significant financial losses across America. Existing
anti-phishing solutions are often either too invasive, non educational, or fail to
catch many phishing attempts.

| Task
The task was to design an experience that educates users. Which lead to a more
effective and user-friendly phishing detection system that could provide timely
alerts with actionable advice, without being overly disruptive.

| Action
Prototype Development: Developed multiple prototypes based on initial design
goals. Added to an existing service for seamless user transitioning.

User Testing and Feedback: Conducted user testing to gather feedback on each
prototype’s effectiveness. Adjustments were made to address issues such as the
intrusiveness of alerts and the visibility of warnings.

| Results
The final Trotline system has been well-received in user testing. Feedback
praised the balance between alert effectiveness, simplicity and user trust.

ravelin bakery

| Situation
The project involved creating Ravelin, a tool designed to help small businesses, such as Ravelin Bakery in Denton, thrive. Ravelin included multiple components, such as Brand Appétit for branding, a sustainability app, and UI tech solutions. My main focus was on developing Brand Appétit.

| Task
My primary responsibility was leading the design of Brand Appétit, a tool to assist small businesses in developing and customizing their branding. Additionally, user research and testing were conducted with Ravelin Bakery to identify pain points and gather feedback, which helped improve the overall functionality of Ravelin. Collaboration with a small team ensured the successful development of each component.

| Action
Interviews were conducted with the owners of Ravelin Bakery to gain insights into the challenges faced in building their brand identity. Opportunities for improving their branding and marketing strategies were identified through user research. A user-friendly branding suite with customizable materials, including logos, napkins, and signs, was designed based on these findings. Separate research and testing efforts were carried out for the sustainability app and UI tech solutions to ensure those elements were optimized.

| Results
he Brand Appétit app received positive feedback for its ease of use and effectiveness. Ravelin Bakery experienced stronger brand recognition, improved customer engagement, and a simplified process for creating marketing materials. The user research and testing conducted for the sustainability and tech solutions enhanced the overall tool, making it better suited to the needs of small businesses.
